The 17th Working Meeting of the IUCN-SSC Crocodile Specialist Group will be held from 24-29 May 2004 at the MGM Grand in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. The hosts, organisers and CSG invite members, crocodilian biologists and all interested individuals to take part in the meeting. CSG Working Meetings take place every two years and provide the principal forum for the presentation and discussion of issues surrounding crocodilian research, management and conservation.
The venue of the meeting will be a 5-star hotel and casino with excellent conference facilities within easy walking distance of the centre of Darwin which offers a range of alternative accommodation and restaurants. Other nearby attractions include the Darwin Botanical Gardens and Mindil Beach. The tropical city of Darwin is the gateway to the Northern Territory and its spectacular scenery and wildlife, including abundant populations of saltwater and freshwater crocodiles. You can learn more about travel in the region here.
The MGM Grand is offering a special room rate for the meeting. Direct international air connections to Darwin from Asia are operated by Qantas and Royal Brunei airlines.
